Join author Ruby McConnell to celebrate the release of her latest book, “Wilderness & the American Spirit”. Known for her outdoor guides for women and girls, and the award-winning collection of essays “Ground Truth”, Ruby’s new book retells the story of the American West putting our national mythology in context with our current environmental crisis. The event will also feature a reading from writer Bronwynn Dean, and a music set by local favorite John Bauman. Chandra LeGue, author of “Oregon’s Ancient Forests: A hiking guide” and Senior Conservation Advocate with Oregon Wild will M.C. and kick-off a celebration of the statewide environmental organization’s 50th year of protecting and restoring Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters.
The event begins at 7pm and will wrap up by 8:30pm, with time to enjoy light refreshments, mingle with the authors, purchase books, enjoy some live music, and get inspired by and for our wild places!
