We're heading back to Rontoms in Southeast Portland for a special multimedia presentation from John Waller and Ben Canales of Uncage the Soul Video Production.
Best known for their work on OPB's Oregon Field Guide, Waller and Canales have worked on over a decade's worth of productions, from commercials to award-winning adventure documentaries, and are technical pioneers in the use of telling conservation-themed stories through dazzling visual media, including the use of modern time-lapse and nighttime photography.
The duo's Wild Wednesday presentation will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how Uncage the Soul creates their incredible video productions and films, with clips from some of their best known works like Finding Oregon, Finding Portland, Treeverse, and others.

The presentation will also offer attendees a chance to see outtakes and never before seen footage from the cutting room floor of Finding Oregon, an inside look at Uncage the Soul's newest film venture, and Uncage the Soul's ongoing exploration of Wilderness-designation campaigns.
Oregon Wild Wilderness Coordinator Erik Fernandez will also talk about Oregon Wild's current wilderness initiatives, including our upcoming Crater Lake-area wilderness proposal.
If you're an aspiring filmmaker, student of media, wilderness advocate or an outdoor and conservation documentary fan, this is a Wild Wednesday event you will not want to miss.
Eugene - Wednesday, January 30th
The ultimate Wild Wednesday for treehuggers and fans of ancient trees, Oregon Wild and Mountain Rose Herbs welcomes the team from Ascending the Giants to the Rogue Ale House and Eugene City Brewery for a special presentation
A non-profit which seeks out, measures, and documents the largest trees in the Pacific Northwest and around the world, Ascending the Giants President Brian French and Executive Direcor Jason Morrow will discuss their efforts in using adventure, media and research to advocate for old-growth.
The subject of recent documentaries like Treeverse, Ascending the Giants seeks to raise awareness about the importance of trees, and the sensitive, unique ecosystems which exist in tandem around them.
Oregon Wild Old-Growth Campaign Coordinator Chandra LeGue will also give a presentation on our ongoing efforts to protect old-growth forests across the state at this Wild Wednesday event custom-made for those who love ancient trees.
We looking forward to seeing you this month for a Wild Wednesday event with Oregon Wild.
