Volunteer Opportunities
From on-the-ground activities in our wild areas, to helping out at our offices in Portland, Bend and Eugene, there's a little something for everyone. Wherever you are, you can also write letters, attend local meetings or host a party to introduce your friends to Oregon Wild. Here’s a sampling of the volunteer activities that we currently have to offer: You can become a hike shepherd, a trail restoration team member, landscape at our office gardens, or photograph the wild places we’re working to protect. Or perhaps you’re more interested in tabling at community events, phone banking, letter writing or helping organize special events. And of course, there’s always a number of administrative tasks around the office just waiting for someone like you.
So what are you waiting for? Give us a call and request
a volunteer application today (see number above) and we’ll be happy to get you
plugged into an activity that matches your skills, interests and desire to help
us keep Oregon a special place.
Join an Oregon Wild Action Team
Oregon Wild has members throughout the state who want to be more involved, but often don't know where to start. Action Teams introduce Oregon Wild members to one another and increase their opportunity to make a difference while developing friendships. The teams provide members with a support structure of other like-minded folks to help them find ways to work together to protect Oregon's wild lands. They will also help increase Oregon Wild's impact on Oregon politics.
Action Team members pledge to do one activity a month and each team has one or two leaders to organize and be the liaison with the Oregon Wild staff. A sample of activities include: developing a phone tree, fax or e-mail network to keep team members apprised of important issues requiring letters or phone calls, meeting once a month for a potluck and letter-writing party or attending local hearings as a group.
