About the Hike
Experience a diverse array of old-growth forests from Black cottonwood along the canyon bottoms, this area is also home to herds of elk. To make this a one way hike, park a car at the end of the trail near Tollgate.
The Dirt
Oregon Wild achieved Wilderness protection for this 18,000 acre area in 1984.
Getting There
From US Highway 30 take the Umatilla River Road east along the River. Drive approx. 33 miles to the head of North Fork Umatilla Trail. The trailhead is 2.8 miles past Bingham Springs.
