About the Hike:

The Chimney Peak Trail boasts, old-growth Douglas fir, peaks with views, diverse wildflowers, etc. 

The Dirt:

One of the first contiguous old growth forests protected as Wilderness.

Getting There:

US Highway 20 to approximately 22 miles east of the Sweet Home Ranger District office. Turn north on Soda Fork Road (FS Road 2041) for a total of 12.2 miles from Highway 20. After turning off Highway 20 bear left on signed FS Road 2041 in the first mile and carefully note intersections. Once you've driven over the ridge to the north and descended into the Middle Santiam Valley, bear right onto FS Road 646 and follow it to the Chimney Peak Trailhead at the end of this short spur road. Always confirm accessibility to trails prior to departure.
