A weekend on Iron Mountain with Oregon Wild naturalist Wendell Wood!

On Saturday, explore the wildflowers of Iron Mountain, one of the most botanically diverse areas of the Oregon Cascades, with naturalist Wendell Wood. Then visit an outstanding old-growth grove of Alaska Yellow Cedar and wildflower meadows in the Echo Mountain Basin.

On Sunday, hike the Cone Peak Trail with shaded forests, open hillsides bursting with wildflowers and outstanding views of snow-capped Cascade peaks. Plant list provided.

(Hike leader: Wendell Wood -- Difficulty: Moderate -- Saturday: elevation gain 1200 ft. over 3 miles -- Sunday: elevation net loss of 600 ft. over 4 miles -- Group encouraged to meet at campground on Friday night)
