Join Oregon Wild at the University of Oregon for an evening of film and discussion about the return of wolves and other top predators in the West.
Top predators hold a key to life itself. Can people and predators coexist? Can we afford not to?
Following in the footsteps of wolves and cougars, and the scientists working to understand their place in the rapidly changing world of nature, award-winning filmmakers Karen
and Ralf Meyer of Green Fire Productions have captured the predators' ongoing drama in their new documentary, LORDS OF NATURE: Life in a Land of Great Predators.
This event is free and presented by Oregon Wild and Cascadia Wildlands.
Narrated by Peter Coyote, this captivating documentary goes behind the scenes with leading scientists to explore the role top predators play in restoring and maintaining ecosystems and biodiversity.
Wolves and cougars, once driven to the edge of existence, are finding their way back -- from the Yellowstone plateau to the canyons of Zion, from the farm country of northern Minnesota to the rugged open range of central Idaho. Lords of Nature presents the engaging story of a science now discovering top carnivores as revitalizing forces of nature, and a society now learning tolerance for beasts they had once banished.
This 60 minute, high-definition film will kick off a series of wolf-focused speakers and events at the High Desert Museum.
