Former federal wolf hunter Carter Niemeyer, author of Wolfer, tells his fascinating story and discusses the future of wolves in Oregon and across the West.

Carter & WolfCarter Niemeyer, author of "Wolfer, a Memoir", speaks about truths and misconceptions about wolves in a Bend appearance.

Hear the fascinating story of Niemeyer's amazing career as a wolf trapper for Montana's Animal Damage Control (now Wildlife Services) and his personal transformation over a lifetime to become a wolf recovery expert.

In 2000, Niemeyer became head of the Wolf Recovery program in Idaho for the US Fish & Wildlife Services. After retiring in 2006, Neimeyer collared wolves while working with The Idaho Department of Fish & Game.
