This hike has it all. Check out ferns, forests, and falls as we hike up to reach spectacular 270-degree views of the Columbia River Gorge.
Level: Moderate-Strenuous
Elevation gain: 1,600 feet
Distance: 4.6 mi roundtrip
Leader: Morgan Lange
Location: Columbia River Gorge
It’s a short distance, but a steep climb to reach the rocky summit of Angel’s Rest, where the views will take your breath away. We’ll start out in lush, low-elevation forest, stroll past the rushing waters of Coopey Falls, walk through a silver-snagged burn area, scramble the boulders, and catch glimpses of Larch Mountain, Mt. Adams, and Beacon Rock. During your lunch, you'll see how Angel’s Rest got its name as you enjoy one of the most magnificent views of one of Oregon's greatest treasures—the Columbia River Gorge.
This hike is one of the Gorge’s closest to Portland, and perfect for an afternoon’s escape from the city.
Don’t forget your camera – the views are picture-perfect!
