Take a challenging hike in the Columbia Gorge and be rewarded by beautiful scenic vistas, wildflowers, and lush forest.
Level: Strenuous
Distance: 6.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,800 feet
Leader: Ani Kame'enui
Location: Washington side of the Columbia Gorge
This challenging hike in the Columbia Gorge takes you up a steep trail on the Washington side of the river. From there, hikers are rewarded with scenic views of the Lewis and Clark Mount Hood Wilderness proposal. The top of Dog Mountain is due north of the "Gorge Face" unit of the Wilderness proposal.
Hikers are also treated to wildflowers and lush forest. Not for the faint of heart, but sometimes you've got to hike high and hard to see the splendor on the Oregon side of the Columbia.
RSVP for the hike.
