Head out to enjoy Columbia River vistas and brightly colored wildflowers with Oregon Wild's resident botanical expert Wendell Wood.
Level: Moderate
Distance: 5.0 miles
Elevation Gain: 1,025 feet
Leader: Wendell Wood
Location: Columbia River Gorge
(Please leave the next day-- Sunday, May 6--open in case the hike is postponed due to significant rain.)
Join Oregon Wild's Wildlands Interpreter Wendell Wood for this slow-paced wildflower ID hike through Mayer State Park to the top of McCall Point and then into a proposed Wilderness area.
Just off the Old Columbia River Highway, we’ll head out and up as we explore the floral displays along the trail. The gain in elevation is worth the effort as new flowers and plants pop up around every turn in the trail.
Plant list of species to be seen will be provided. Space is limited to 15 participants.
