Difficulty: Moderate
Distance: 5-8 miles
Elevation Gain: varies
Leader: Doug Heiken
Location: Umpqua National Forest

Hikers will enjoy old growth forests, wildflowers, and spectacular river views. The exact section we will hike is to be determined based on the need to avoid trail closures related to past fires and landslides. We may start at Swiftwater Park and hike up to Deadline Falls with possible salmon viewing opportunities.

We’ll encounter several plant communities and have the opportunity to view fish and wildlife in their natural habitats. Forests containing multiple aged stands of Douglas fir, hemlock and pine can be observed along the trail, including some giant old-growth trees. Carpools will depart from Eugene.

Space is limited.
