Level: Beginner
Distance: 4.0 miles
Elevation Gain: 800 feet
Leader: Erik Fernandez
Location: Mount Hood National Forest

If you've never been on a snowshoe hike before, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try. If you are a veteran snowshoer, bring along a warm beverage and show the newbies how it's done.

We'll hike through high elevation old-growth forests along the Pacific Crest Trail up to the first of Twin Lakes. The lakeside offers a pristine spot to enjoy some lunch and to admire the view (fingers crossed for a clear day and straight line view to the top of Mount Hood).

The snowshoe trip will include guided narration regarding forest ecology and preservation.

Sign up for the hike here.

(Oregon Wild members ($6) and non-members ($9). All proceeds from hikes support Oregon Wild’s campaigns to protect wildlands across the state.)

If you are unsure if your Oregon Wild membership is current, please call 503.283.6343 x 213. To join, please click here.

Snowshoes are not provided. Rentals can be made at REI at 1405 NW Johnson St, 503.221.1938 and at Oregon Mountain Community at 2975 NE Sandy Blvd, 503.227.1038.
