Level: Beginner-Moderate
Distance: 3-4 miles
Elevation Gain: Minimal
Leader: Pat Clancy
Location: Mount Hood National Forest

If you know the right spot to sneak off the road and through the trees (and Oregon Wild knows the right spot) you will suddenly be transported to a Winter Wonderland. The Salmon River Meadows are tucked away from the road and represent the last vestige of undeveloped meadows at the base of Mount Hood.

Here you can search for evidence of wildlife left in the layer of snow and hear about the unique habitat the area provides.

RSVP for the hike.

Snowshoes are not provided. Rentals can be made at REI at 1405 NW Johnson St, 503.221.1938 and at Oregon Mountain Community at 2975 NE Sandy Blvd, 503.227.1038.
