Located in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Beginner level.

Discover the hidden Salmon River Meadows, tucked away off off Hwy 26.  Here you will find the headwaters for the Salmon River.  One of the few sub-alpine meadows left intact on Mt Hood, this area is part of the proposed Lewis and Clark Mt. Hood Wilderness Bill.Mirror Lake Snowshoers

The trip will be led by Oregon Wild board member, Pat Clancy who is an experienced tracker.  We'll be trying to see what critters are hanging out in the meadows when the humans are asleep.  Dress warm and bring those snowshoes.

Wondering where you can find these clever contraptions known as snowshoes, check out REI or Oregon Mountain Community (OMC). You can rent snowshoes at either location and OMC offers discounts for Oregon Wild members and snowshoe trek participants.
