Level: Beginner
Distance: 3.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 500 feet

If you've never been on a snowshoe hike before, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try. If you are a veteran snowshoer, bring along a warm beverage and show the newbies how it's done.

We'll hike through high elevation old-growth forests along the Pacific Crest Trail up to the first of Twin Lakes. The lakeside offers a pristine spot to enjoy some lunch and to admire the view (fingers crossed for a clear day and straight line view to the top of Mount Hood).

The snowshoe trip will include guided narration regarding forest ecology and preservation.

Sign up for the hike here.

Snowshoes are not provided. Rentals can be made at several outdoor stores in the Portland area including REI and Oregon Mountain Community.

This hike is for Oregon Wild members only. To find out more about membership and join today, click here.
