The White River Sno Park is generally a busy place during winter weekends, a fact that might turn off those seeking a measure of solitude in the snow. However, Oregon Wild knows a secret: most people don't venture beyond 200 yards of the parking lot. When you do, you'll realize that the White River Canyon is a special place.

Oregon Wild staff like to think of it as our own little sledding playground paradise (we annually journey here for our staff sledding trip). Come strap on the snowshoes with us and see why it is so special.

On this journey you'll see the river snake it's way down a large canyon surrounded by forested ridges.

Dog ate your snowshoes? Oregon Wild hikers can get discounts on rentals at REI on 1405 NW Johnson St, (503) 221-1938.

RSVP for the hike.
