Join famed naturalist Wendell Wood for a leisurely-paced hike that will explore wildflowers and plants of the Columbia Gorge (Easy, 3 miles, 300 ft elevation change)

Some of the best views of  Oregon are from the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge!

Join Oregon Wild naturalist Wendell Wood on this popular trail for a slow-paced hike to take in the area's oak woodlands, outstanding basalt cliffs and amazing array of wildflowers.  View of Oregon’s Memaloose Hills and the proposed McCall Point Wilderness area, along with a complete plant species list of wildflower species to be seen will be provided.  Poison oak occurs in the area, but with minor care is easily avoided.

Space is limited to 15.  RSVP with your name, phone number and email to: hikes@gorgefriends.org or 503.241.3762 x 103.

Please leave the next day open in case the hike is postponed due to significant rain.

Carpools will depart at 8:15 AM from Portland’s Gateway Transit Garage’s, southeast ground floor corner on NE 99th Ave.  (This is one block north from the former meeting site on the SE corner of NE 99th & NE Pacific in Portland).

Overheard...

I started out thinking of America as highways and state lines. As I got to know it better, I began to think of it as rivers. Most of what I love about the country is a gift of the rivers. . . . America is a great story, and there is a river on every page of it.
