Klamath River Fish Kill
In 2002 the federal government reversed two biological opinions meant to protect Klamath River salmon and Upper Klamath Lake sucker fish. This decision allowed water to be diverted to farms in the Klamath Basin. Six months later, 77,000 fish lay dead in the river.
