It was the lure of snow-capped mountains and winding rivers; high desert brush and old growth forests; and the smell of Earth after a gray and rainy day that brought Gaby to Oregon from her home state of Colorado. Gaby’s desire to advocate for wildlife and wildlands began at the University of Colorado Boulder where she studied Environmental Studies and served for several years as the Director of Wildlife for CU’s oldest student-run environmental club.
Upon moving to Oregon she served a term with the Oregon State Service Corps (AmeriCorps), worked to provide medical care for Portland’s homeless and marginalized populations at Outside In, and spent a summer living in Sandy working with Trackers Earth to teach primitive skills to students from all over Oregon. As Office Manager for Oregon Wild, Gaby continues to do what she loves by advocating for the wild.
Outside of the office you can find her hiking Forest Park with her dog Lacey, cozying up with a book and a beer, out listening to local music, or wandering with a camera doing wilderness photography.
