Bluegrass Ridge Hike

Located on the southeast shoulder of Mount Hood, Bluegrass Ridge boasts great views of Oregon's tallest peak, incredible forest, and some criss-crossing creeks

Difficulty: Difficult
Distance: 7-10 miles
Elevation Gain: 1,500-2,500 feet
Leader: Jonathan Jelen
Location: Mount Hood National Forest

In 2009, Oregon Wild achieved a massive victory when President Obama signed the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act which permanently protected over 120,000 acres on the Mount Hood National Forest as Wilderness. Unfortunately, political opposition prevented a few of the forest's pristine areas from being included. Bluegrass Ridge is one of those spots and is a core part of Oregon Wild's "Unfinished Business" Mount Hood Wilderness proposal. Located on the southeast shoulder of Mount Hood, Bluegrass Ridge boasts great views of Oregon's tallest peak, incredible forest, and some criss-crossing creeks. After hiking this special spot, we think you'll agree that Bluegrass Ridge deserves permanent Wilderness protection.
