Wild Week of Giving

Wild Week of Giving

Usually this time of year, you’d be receiving invitations from us for our annual Call of the Wild fundraising event. But due to the evolving pandemic and the necessary precautions to keep our communities safe, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.

So this year, we’re not inviting you to an event. We won’t ask you to give up a Friday night and stand in a long beer line. And we won’t have bear and wolf selling raffle tickets and posing for photos. Instead, we’re asking that you don your fleece and flannel at home, fix yourself some s’mores, and make a special donation to help us recoup the essential funds we won’t be able to raise at Call of the Wild this year.

The financial resources brought in by Call of the Wild each year are absolutely critical to our organization and help sustain our conservation work for the year ahead. Next month, Oregon Wild turns 47 years old, and coincidentally, we’re advancing a once-in-a-generation opportunity to protect 4,700 miles of Oregon’s rivers.

So Oregon Wild is launching a special Wild Week of Giving starting October 11th to help raise the funds necessary to do the work to protect places and wildlife that you care about. Our goal is to raise $47,000 and we need your help.

With the generous support of business partners, we’ve put together some special incentive prizes like scenic flights over Oregon, a two-night stay at Barking Mad Farm B&B in beautiful NE Oregon, a three-night stay at Trout Creek Wilderness Lodge along the Molalla River, and outdoor gear and beer & wine packages to add to the excitement of giving. With your donation, you’ll not only support Oregon Wild, but you could win something for it! Here’s how it works:

  • Throughout the week of October 11th, we’ll be drawing one winner each day. With drawings every day, the earlier that you donate, the better your odds -- so donate today!
  • Any donation of $100 or more between now and October 15th will automatically enter you into the week-long incentive drawing. That’s $1 for every 47 miles of rivers that we’re working to protect! That’s a lot of river bang for your buck!
  • Donate $1,000 or more and you’ll not only be entered into the incentive drawings, but I’ll personally deliver a special thank you gift package to your door!

So this year, don’t worry about having to buy your Call of the Wild tickets. Instead, take the night off and treat yourself for doing your part to help us protect the wildlands, wildlife, and waters that we all love.

Please answer the Call of the Wild this year by making a special donation today to help us make up for the event being canceled and support our conservation work in the year ahead.

It’s the most fun you’ll have feeling like you’re doing nothing but really doing a whole lot of good! Thanks for all that you do to keep Oregon wild and we hope to see you again soon!
