Save Our Old Growth
Take action to stop the Bush administration from cutting down our heritage forests.
Take action to stop WOPR
The BLM's Western Oregon Plan Revision (WOPR) would allow old growth clear-cutting on one hundred thousand acres of publicly-owned land. These trees protect the quality of our drinking water, provide habitat for wildlife and are part of our natural heritage. With 90% of our old growth already cut down, we must save what we have left.
Here's what you can do:
Read these talking points to get some ideas flowing for what you want to say. Recently, the BLM released the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for its logging plan. See the gory details of the plan. Governor Kulongoski has to sign off on the plan and we need to tell him what a bad thing that would be for fish and wildlife, recreation, clean water, and global warming pollution. Follow a link below to act.

If you can't send a letter (or even if you already did but you want to do more) make a donation to Oregon Wild to help us fight for permanent old growth protection. For the last 35 years we have been fighting to protect our heritage forests for future generations. Your donation will help us continue that fight into the future.
Thank you for making a difference for our heritage forests. Future generations of Oregonians will have you to thank when they marvel at the beauty and size of ancient trees.
Now that you've done the hard work, take a look at videos and pictures of these amazing places.
