Our Kids
The importance of protecting Oregon's wild areas for our children.
Our children and grandchildren are a major reason to cherish and protect Oregon's forests, rivers, grasslands, deserts and other wild areas.
These wildlands provide our kids with unparalleled (and inexpensive!) opportunities to hike, climb, camp, raft, swim and fish. Our great natural treasures provide one of the best ways for kids to slow down, understand their connection to the natural world and enjoy unstructured play and exercise. And the memories will last a lifetime. Who doesn't remember the family camping trips, swimming in cool mountain lakes, rafting through rapids, the first sighting of an elk or bear, or just horsing around with siblings and friends?
Oregon Wild is working hard to preserve Oregon's wild places so our kids, and their kids and their kids after them will be able to enjoy and appreciate the richness and opportunities provided by our state's natural areas.
We also sponsor hikes, activities and other outings that provide great ways for kids to experience and learn about our state's natural treasures.
