Wild Rivers

Oregon Wild is working to protect the lakes, rivers and streams that make Oregon a special place

Rafting the upper Klamath-smallFrom the thrilling whitewater of rivers such as the Rogue and Clackamas to the serene beauty of the Klamath Basin's wetlands, Oregon’s waters are an important part of what makes our state a special place to live, work and raise a family.

Oregon's rivers and streams provide our families with recreational opportunities such as swimming, rafting and fishing, and supply many of our state's communities with clean Fifteenmile Creekdrinking water.  Our lakes and wetlands are scenic treasures for everyone to enjoy and vital habitat for wildlife--from bald eagles to river otters.

Safeguarding our rivers, lakes and wetlands is a central part of Oregon Wild's mission for more than 30 years.  From our winning campaign to protect the source of Portland's drinking water in the Bull Run watershed to our current work to restore balance to the troubled Klamath Basin, Oregon Wild is the leading voice for common-sense conservation of our waters and the fish and wildlife that call them home.

Overheard...

The marsh, to him who enters it in a receptive mood, holds, besides mosquitoes and stagnation, melody, the mystery of unknown waters, and the sweetness of Nature undisturbed by man.
