Answer: The Eagle Cap Wilderness

The Eagle Cap Wilderness in Northeast Oregon is our state's largest protected Wilderness area.  It safeguards over 350,000 acres of rugged mountains, pristine lakes, and scenic rivers.  It is one of the best destinations in Oregon for multi-day backpacking trips.

The size and landscape of the Eagle Cap Wilderness provides ideal habitat for a wide range of fish and wildlife, including elk, mountain goats, and bull trout.  Wolves, which were hunted to extinction in Oregon, may also be making a comeback in this rugged area.

Act Now!

Call Senator Gordon Smith and Senator Ron Wyden to make sure obstructionist politicians like Oklahoma's Tom Coburn don't block protections for Mount Hood and other Oregon treasures.
